About R&D

Research and Development (R&D) plays a vital role in promoting academic excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and societal development in higher educational institutions. The Office of the Dean Research and Development is established to create a vibrant research ecosystem that encourages faculty members, researchers, and students to engage in quality research, consultancy, innovation, patents, publications, and collaborative projects with industries and academic organizations.

The Dean of Research and Development facilitates and monitors research activities in the institute by promoting interdisciplinary research, securing research grants, strengthening industry-institute interaction, and encouraging outcome-based research aligned with national and global needs. The office also aims to develop a culture of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and continuous learning among students and faculty.

The Research and Development Cell works towards enhancing the institute’s academic and research reputation through:

• Promotion of funded research projects
• Encouragement for quality publications and patents
• Establishment of research laboratories and centers of excellence
• Collaboration with industries, universities, and research organizations
• Organization of workshops, seminars, conferences, and FDPs
• Support for innovation, incubation, and startup activities
• Monitoring of research ethics and quality standards

The office of Dean R&D acts as a nodal center for coordinating all research-related activities and ensuring compliance with the guidelines of regulatory authorities such as All India Council for Technical Education, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and other statutory bodies.

Through a structured and progressive research framework, the institution aims to contribute significantly to technological advancement, knowledge creation, and societal transformation.
