Governing Body
The Governing Body of an autonomous engineering college serves as the guiding force behind its strategic decisions and academic policies. Comprised of eminent professionals, educators, and industry leaders, this body ensures adherence to quality standards while fostering a conducive environment for academic and research excellence. With its diverse expertise and vision, the Governing Body plays a crucial role in shaping the college's direction, fostering innovation, and maintaining accountability to stakeholders. Roles and Responsibilities
- To verify and insure that the functioning of the Institute is as per the rules, regulations and recommendations of apex bodies, affiliated Institute and Government.
- To take the decisions for the expansion of Institute confined to academics and infrastructure.
- To provide the guidelines for human resource management.
- Review of financial status and approve the budget for the respective financial year. Mobilize the funds and utilize the resources optimally towards the development of the institution.
- Review of academic performance of the institution and suggest remedial measures, if required.
- Review and finalize the recommendations of College Development Committee.
Constitution
- The Governing Body shall have at least eleven members including the Chairman and the Member Secretary. The Registered Trust/ Society/ Company shall nominate six members including the Chairman and the Member Secretary.
- The Chairman of the Governing Body shall preferably be a technical person either Entrepreneur or an Industrialist or an Educationist of repute who is interested in the development of Technical Education and has demonstrated an interest in promotion of quality Education.
- Two to five Members (Industrialist/ Technologist/ Educationist) to be nominated by the Registered Trust/ Society/ Company.
- Nominee of the State Government
- Nominee of the affiliating University
- An Industrialist/ Technologist/ Educationist from the Region nominated by the State Government.
- Two Faculty members to be nominated from amongst the Regular Staff, one at the level of Professor and one at the level of Associate Professor.
- Principal of the concerned Technical Institution (as nominee of the Trust/ Society/ Company) - Member Secretary.
- The number of members can be increased equally by adding nominees of the registered Society and by adding an equal number of Educationists from the Region keeping in view the interest of the Technical Institution.
