EESA - Student Club
Electrical Engineering Students Association (EESA) is formed in the year 2010, with the grand inauguration by the hands of honorable principle, Dr. G.K. Kharate and chief guest Dr. B.E. Kushare.
EESA is a platform of an active club for students for running various activities and exhibiting their talent. Various activities run which include industrial visits, expert talks, workshops, seminars, technical events, social visits under the guidance of head of the department and staff coordinator of the club.
EESA consists of a committee which is headed by President and vice president along with its members from second, third and final year students. Different activities organized and participation of the students helps them to develop their different skills like leadership, team work etc.

4 days workshop on PLC & SCADA
Department of Electrical Engineering had arranged 4 days’ workshop on PLC & SCADA under EESA club activity. The training was imparted by Mr. Pankaj Sonawane, Owner, Autotech, Nashik on 17th October, 2023 for the Final Year Electrical Engineering students.
The workshop was arranged to impart the programming skills of PLC & SCADA in the students to make them industry ready. In the workshop, students were exposed to various types of PLCs viz. Siemens, Allen Bradly and ABB. They got the hands-on practice on basic programming of PLC using ladder diagram, types of switches, sensors and supply system. Applications of PLC for different industrial purposes were also overviewed in the workshop.

Hands-on training of Electrical AutoCAD
A five days’ Workshop on “Hands-on training of Electrical AutoCAD” was conducted in Electrical Engineering Department for Third Year and Final Year students from 4th October, 2023 to 8th October, 2023.
The objective of this Add-on course was to enlighten users with the basic commands and tools necessary for 2D drawing, design and drafting using AutoCAD Electrical. This Add-on course also focused on the use of symbols and their libraries, generation, and insertion of PLC layout modules, and organization of PLC database files. The course also taught the students about creating PLC I/O drawings, wire numbering, and component tagging, using AutoCAD for designing Electrical Engineering Projects, navigating throughout AutoCAD using major navigating tools, understanding Graphical User interface (GUI), Setting up the Workspace, creating multiple designs using several tools, creating layers to control the objects’ visibility, constructing blocks for electrical wiring projects such as PLC SCADA etc.

Industrial Visit to Yash Capacitors Pvt. Ltd.
Department of Electrical Engineering had arranged an Industrial Visit for the Third Year Electrical Engineering students at Yash Capacitors Pvt. Ltd., Satpur MIDC, Nashik on 27th September, 2023.
The objective of the visit was to make students aware about the manufacturing processes of various capacitors, their selection criteria, various tests performed to check their performance, etc. Production Planning and Customer Support Officer, Mr. Deore and his team member explained the overall process of capacitor manufacturing. Mr. Deore also explained in detail the dielectric material used for manufacturing of capacitors, coil wounding process and the tests performed on capacitors. The major products of the Company are Power Factor Improvement Capacitors (LV), DC Power Capacitors, Motor Run and Motor Start Capacitors.

Industrial Visit to ±500 KV HVDC Terminal Station, Padgha
Department of Electrical Engineering had arranged an Industrial Visit for the Final Year Electrical Engineering students at ±500 KV HVDC Terminal Station, Padgha, Bhivandi, Maharashtra on 15th March, 2023.
The objective of the visit was to make students aware about the different types of HVDC systems, various switchgear and protection devices along with their ratings and selection criteria and the various modes in which power electronics converters work. Additional Executive Engineer, Mr. Sharad Mali explained in detail the demo model of the system. After detailing of demo model Mr. Sunil Shenava, Additional Executive Engineer, explained the single line diagram of the Chandrapur-Padgha System, the converter section and the outdoor switch yard with detailing of all switchgear and protection devices.

Expert Talk on “Entrepreneurship Development Opportunities for Engineers”
Department of Electrical Engineering had arranged expert talk on “Entrepreneurship Development Opportunities for Engineers” under EESA club activity. The talk was delivered by Mr. Vaibhav Bhavsar, Managing Director, VRB Products Pvt. Ltd, Nashik on 29th September, 2022 for the Final Year Electrical Engineering students.
To create awareness amongst the students about startup concepts, this initiative was taken. This also included the challenges faced by the entrepreneur and steps to be taken towards success. In the expert talk, Mr. Bhavsar covered the facets related to entrepreneurship such as characteristics of good human being, qualities of a good entrepreneur, and challenges in the path of startups, mental and physical fitness, and its importance, preparing your own calendar. He also enlightened the students with how to set one’s own goals, how dreams are important and how these initiatives can support an individual to become hero of one’s own life.

Expert Talk on “Sustainability Through Electrical Energy Audit”
Department of Electrical Engineering had arranged expert talk on “Sustainability Through Electrical Energy Audit” under EESA club activity. The talk was delivered by Mr. Pramod Daspute, Certified Energy Auditor, PCRA, Nashik on 25th August, 2022 for the Final Year Electrical Engineering students.
The talk was arranged to make students aware about energy auditing and related terminologies. In the expert talk, Mr. Daspute covered the concepts related to energy auditing. In this expert talk, he emphasized the importance of energy audit, energy security and global warming.

Expert talk on “Electrical Safety”
Department of Electrical Engineering had arranged expert talk on “Electrical Safety” under EESA club activity by Mr. A. R. Chavan, Mr. J. H. Rathor and Mr. S. S. Badgujar (Additional Executive Engineer, MSEDCL, Eklahare, Nashik) on 15th Jan 2019 for TE and BE students. Purpose for this expert talk is that, students should be aware of the electrical safety measures and there importance.

IET student chapter inauguration
IET is a global organization inspiring, informing and influencing the engineering community to engineer a better world. As a diverse home across engineering and technology, IET share knowledge that helps make better sense of the world to solve the challenges that matter.
IET student chapter for nashik local network was opened in the department of electrical engineering at Matoshri College of Engineering and Research Center Nashik on 15th sep 2017 with the grand inauguration function by the hands of chairman of Nashik local network Dr. B.E. Khushare sir and the honorable principle of the Matoshri College of Engineering and Research Center Nashik.

Industrial visit to “BDTCL 765/400 KV substation, Dhule
Department of Electrical Engineering and Research Center, Nashik had organized one day industrial visit to “BDTCL 765/400 KV substation, Dhule” on 10th Feb 2018 for third year electrical engineering students. The BDTCL project ensures that Bhopal substation receives reliable EHV power delivery of 2,000 MW in Madhya Pradesh. The 400 D/C kV Line can facilitate transfer of nearly 1,000 MW of power to Dhule as well, allowing for the power needs in the industrial city to be met. BDTCL was fully commissioned in June 2015. BDTCL was awarded a Silver Shield for the year 2013-2014 in the category of ‘Early Completion of Transmission Projects’ by the Ministry of Power for its Dhule sub-station. Purpose of visit to this substation was to focus on studying different power system and control system equipment’s.

Workshop on PLC and SCADA
After the grand inauguration of IET local chapter for students, IET Nashik local center and department of electrical engineering of Matoshri college of engineering and research center Nasik had arranged four days workshop on PLC and SCADA on 21st August 2017 which was taken by the “Prolific Systems and Technologies Ltd, Pune” for final year electrical engineering students. This workshop enlightens the knowledge of students.
